updated June 2...
Visits to theatres and other venues have always been a feature of Theatre Engineering and Architecture conferences and visits have been arranged after this Conference.
These include the Opera Houses in Oslo and Copenhagen, the Royal Opera House, National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall and Roundhouse in London, Curve in Leicester, the new Hull Truck Theatre, Grove Theatre in Dunstable and Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin. In addition there are two backstage visits to West End musicals. We anticipate that visits to Kings Place in London and to a number of theatres in Amsterdam will be included shortly.
Click here to view the current visits list.
The visits all take place after Conference, on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of that week and are subject to the performance and rehearsal schedules of the venue.
There is a £5.00 administration charge PER VISITOR which is included in any price quoted on the booking page. Some venues are now also charging for visits. Full travel information will be sent to you after you have booked. Refunds will only be made in the event that a visit has to be cancelled by the venue or by the Promoter.
Visits may be booked as part of your Conference registration at:
www.theatre-event.com/registration.html
OR, if you have already registered, by going to www.iteac.org and entering your Booking Code in the BOOK VISITS ONLY box.
Smaller numbers indicated interest in the school theatres and it has also only been possible to arrange one because of examinations on the days available. Please email director@theatre-event.com if you would like to visit the Parabola at Cheltenham Ladies College on Wednesday 16 June to see the new 300+ seat auditorium primarily designed for the spoken word but also adjustable for music and choral performances. The control room is sized for teaching and a tensioned-wire grid provides safe access to lighting positions. This scheme by Foster Wilson Architects includes teaching, reception and support facilities.
